Bud, a family friend, was an exceptional role model and a good Christian man who lived his faith. He was a loving husband to Callie, brother, uncle and took a special interest in caring for his nephew, Amare, and my grandson, Philip, as a young lad and during his adolescent years, which is how I came to know Bud. I had the pleasure and honor to spend time in the last weeks of Bud’s life with him, and I am the better to have known him. My condolences to Callie and all Bud’s family members. May our dear Bud Rest In Peace.

I have many happy memories of Bud playing softball for teams organized by my Stepfather, James Callicutt. He loved Bud like a son as he did all the guys who played on the teams he coached. Bud and Larry and their family were family to us. I kept score for most of the teams and always knew it was a good day when Bud and Larry were there. You were guaranteed a smile and joking in the dugout, and getting down to business on the field. I'm sorry to have lost touch with him and all his family in the past several years. I do know that James was right there to welcome Bud home and recruit him for the team he's been organizing. I'm so sorry for his family's loss and will be praying that God comfort you all in the days ahead, and give you strength to go on as Bud would have wanted. He set a great example for us all. I'm glad that God let our paths cross for a season and to have had the chance to know him.
Much prayers and love,
Myra Hargis

My heart aches tonight Callie. I feel like the world has lost one of the greatest man that has ever lived. Bud was always the same every time you saw him. Always with a smile and a good sense of humor. I enjoyed our time playing ball together, either on the same team or against one another. He was truly a great athlete that was always competitive. He loved you and he loved his nephew that y'all took care of. That was the kind of man I will always remember. A man that was willing to help anyone in need. We are all going to miss him Callie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family. God Bless You!
