Carolyn Elizabeth Jones

Carolyn Elizabeth Rives Jones, age 80, of Bear Creek died Thursday, August 6, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Jones was born December 9, 1939 the daughter of Clair B. and Ruby Avent Rives. She was preceded in death by parents, husband: Luther Thomas Jones, sister: Janette Rives Brown, and brothers: Billy Everett Rives, and James Michael "Jimmy" Rives. She was a Registered Nurse and Licensed Cosmetologist. Carolyn adored her cat Princess, enjoyed gardening and had a great love for spending time with her family and vacationing at the beach. She is survived by daughters: Vickie Jones McElveen, husband Doug of Sanford and Teresa Jones Cheek, husband Charles of Bear Creek; son: Jason Luther Jones of Bear Creek; sister: Patricia Ann Cantrell of Dunlap, TN; grandchildren: Kyle McElveen, Kevin McElveen, L'oreal Jones, and Andrew Jones; great grandchildren; Kiley Prestyn Dixon, Brinnon McElveen, Samantha McElveen, Suttyn Dane Foushee, and Laurel McElveen. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2020 from 12:30-2:00pm followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Jay Smoot officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Bear Creek. Family is welcome to receiving guests at Mrs. Jones' home outside of church visitation hours.
