Worth Dale Elkins, 83, of Pittsboro died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Hospice & Palliative Care Center Of Alamance-Caswell, Burlington.
Mr. Elkins was born in Chatham County on December 24, 1932 the son of Noah Lee and Martha Ann (Fields) Elkins. He was an Air Force Veteran and attended Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church. Worth had retired from The Keith Corp and was currently employed with Siler City Ace Hardware. He enjoyed his work both in the store and on the farm, time spent fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Lynn Elkins; brothers, Jesse, Nubie, Leroy, Talmadge, Johnny, Fred and Carl; sisters, Myrtie Branson and Annabel Hudson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Rachel (Fogleman) Elkins; daughter: Gina Elkins Martin and husband, Tim of Bonlee; sons: Darryle Lynn Elkins and wife, Sharon of Pittsboro, Richard Dale Elkins and wife, Sherrie of Graham, Tony Craig Elkins of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Rachel Dale, Brent, Brandon, Tabitha and Wesley; step-granddaughters, Jamie and Brandy; several great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren..
The funeral will be Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church 5016 Silk Hope-Gum Spring Road, Pittsboro, NC 27312 with Rev. Jason Dickerson officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2016 following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the church cemetery,
