Wilma Frances Smith Gunter

Wilma Smith Gunter, 88, of Buck Gunter Road, Siler City died Monday, November 20, 2017 at UNC Hospice, Pittsboro.

Mrs. Gunter was born in Lee County on April 6, 1929 the daughter of Frank and Sadie (Buchanan) Smith. Wilma was a member of Mount Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church where she had served on several committees. She had retired from Kellwood Manufacturing. She enjoyed reading, gardening and loved her fish.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Gunter; her parents and a sister, Joyce Harrington.

She is survived by one daughter: Linda Cooper of Pittsboro; two sons: Jerald Gunter and wife, Sue Ann and Chris Gunter and wife, Tammy both of Siler City; grandchildren, Forest and Donna, Shelly and Ashley, four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Saylor and Gabriel; one great-great grandson, Sawyer.

A graveside service will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Cemetery, 1225 Mt. Vernon Springs Road, Siler City with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
