William Robert "Bobby" Lambert, 79, of Meadow Creek Road, Siler City died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Chatham Hospital, Siler City.
Mr. Lambert was born in Chatham County on July 29, 1934 the son of Oscar Lee and Luta (White) Lambert. He was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church, a 1953 graduate of Siler City High School and a charter member of the Chatham County Street Rod Association. Bobby was a retired auto mechanic for over 50 years. He had owned and operated Universal Auto for many of those years. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and had a passion for working on anything with a motor including old cars, trucks and tractors. Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lambert; his parents and a brother, Joe Lambert.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Dolores (Jessup) Lambert; daughter, Amy Lambert Williams; son, Ronnie Lambert; grandchildren, Lindsay Williams, Will Lambert and Molli Lambert; great-grandson, Conner Martinez.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 1:30-2:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:30 PM in Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tripp Foltz officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
