William Lee Elkins, 75, of College Street, Siler City died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Elkins was born in Chatham County on October 8, 1938 the son of Jesse William and Ida Lee (Landruth) Elkins. He was an Army veteran, had been employed with Hadley Peoples Manufacturing and retired from the Chatham County Sherriff Office as a Detention Officer. William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Thompson Elkins; his parents and a brother, Charlie Elkins.
He is survived by nieces, Loretta & Charles Kivett of Siler City, Amy Sue Elkins of Bear Creek, Elizabeth Thompson of Charlotte; nephews, Jonathan Thompson of Siler City;, Chrisman Thompson of California; great-niece, Jessica Kivett of Siler City; great-nephew, Christopher Hash of Siler City; brother-in-law, Harvey Thompson and wife Baisy of Alabama.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley-Snow Camp Road, Siler City with David Hobson officiating. The family will be at the home of Loretta Kivett, 111 Olympia Street, Siler City.
