William "Bill" Womble Boone

William "Bill" Womble Boone, 84, of Pine Avenue, Siler City died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City. Mr. Boone was born in Chatham County on November 19, 1930 the son of Jessie and Altie (Womble) Boone. Bill was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Siler City, had been employed by Hadley Peoples Manufacturing for 45 years and was a part time employee of Chatham County Schools with 16 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, his church and watching his grandchildren swim. Bill was preceded in death by infant son, William Womble Boone, Jr.; his parents; four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Barbara (Holt) Boone; daughter: Rhonda B. Poe and husband, Mike of Siler City, NC; sons: Tony Boone and wife, Penny of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rev. Dr. Dennis Boone and wife, Jill of Burlington, NC; brother: Bobby Boone of Sanford, NC; sister-in-law, Colleen Boone; grandchildren, Michael Boone and wife Angela of Siler City, NC; Mitchell Boone and wife, Emily of High Point, NC, Casey Biggs and wife, Karen of Winston- Salem, NC, Melissa Poe Parks and husband, Preston of Pittsboro, NC, Dillon Boone of Burlington, NC, Tony Michael Boone of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jessie Boone of Myrtle Beach, SC; great-grandchildren, Ella Ruth and Tommy Parks of Pittsboro, NC, Riley and Morgan Biggs of Winston- Salem, NC, Emorie Boone of Siler City, NC, William Boone of High Point, NC. The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM First Wesleyan Church of Siler City. The funeral will be Friday, January 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Donald Southern and Rev. Dr. Dennis Boone officiating.
