William "Bill" Harold Allenbaugh

William Harold (Bill) Allenbaugh, 68, of Pineview Acres, Goldston died Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence. Bill was born November 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois the son of William H. and Grace (Lein) Allenbaugh. Bill attended Pittsboro Baptist Church and was retired as a global purchasing agent, after 37 years of service with Caterpiller. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, and NASCAR racing. Bill was an accomplished skeet shooter. He was a good hearted, good natured person who loved to entertain with stories of his adventures. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife of 16 years: Lee (Hammer) Allenbaugh, two daughters: Emily Todino of IL, Jennifer Hendricks and husband, Cary of TX; one son: Joshua Allenbaugh and wife, Julie of IL; seven grandchildren; one sister: Jane Hout and husband, Jerri of IL; brother-in-law, Doug Hammer and wife, Rachel of Morehead City, NC; and nephew, Jonathan Hammer of Clayton, NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Pittsboro Baptist Church with Dr. Tripp Harman officiating. Memorials may be made to Pittsboro Baptist Church, Goldston Baptist Church or Habitat for Humanity. The family extends a special thanks to his caregivers, Trista Marsh and Elizabeth Hartley.
