Mrs. Willia Moore, 90, went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Mrs. Willia was born on August 19, 1933, in Randolph County. The only daughter of Winona Williams and Charlie D. Caviness. She had a passion for sewing, lighthouses, and North Carolina beaches. She was an active member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church. Her first job was as a candy striper at the old Chatham Hospital in Siler City. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Willia was a committed homemaker where she farmed poultry and beef for many years alongside her husband, Ted. She went on to deliver the mail for the US Postal Service along Route 2 in Bear Creek, NC. She also drove a school bus, was a substitute teacher when called upon, and even sewed costumes for the Chatham Central High School Concert Choir. Willia and Ted enjoyed visiting with their friends for breakfast at Bojangles a few times a week.
Willia is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Ralph Ted Moore; her four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles (Lou Ann) Moore of Bear Creek, Darrell (Melissa) Moore of Hampstead, Shannon (Carolyn) Moore of Bear Creek, and Keith (Catherine) Moore of Bear Creek; her ten grandchildren, Renée, Joshua, Christy (Lee), Marshal (Lyna), Ted Reece (Grace), Ethan, Dalton (Brooke), Layne Rae, Emily (Seth), and Drake; and nine great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kagan, Haylee, Sawyer, Laylen, Eleanor, Weston, Hudson, and Luna.
A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday, July 21st, 2024 at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at Sandy Branch Baptist Church on Monday, July 22nd, 2024 at 10 AM.
Services will be officiated by Reverend Womack Keck and Reverend Val Chadwick.
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Moore Family.
