Wanna Mae Moore, "Ms. Moore" or "Grandma", as she was affectionately called, passed away November 4, 2018 at Hospice of Randolph County.

Wanna Mae was born April 2, 1930 in Chatham County. She was a homemaker, devoted to her children, her church, especially her Sunday School Class. Wanna Mae was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 35 years. Wanna Mae loved Southern Gospel Music, crocheting, quilting, flowers and making fried apple pies. Wanna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Moore; sister, Bessie Brown, brother, Russell Rachel; step-son, Michael Moore; granddaughter, Melissa Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Moore of Greensboro; sons, Thomas N. Moore (Cindy), Donald Moore (Marguerite), Ronald Moore (Lorrie), James "Chub" Moore (Diane) of Bear Creek and Keith Moore (Miranda) of Siler City; two brothers: Jesse Rachel of Siler City and Lynn Rachel of Greensboro; grandchildren, Alisha Moore, Chance Moore (Megan), Brittany Hughes (Mick), Brooklyn Douglas (Daniel), Blake Moore, Lauren McDaniel (Hunter), Meagan Moore, Hayley Sessoms (Jeremy), Colby Moore, Emery Moore, Seth Moore, Maxine Moore and Michael Moore; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 1:30-3:00 PM at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek. The funeral will follow Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Sandy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. David King officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
