Walter "Walt" Wright, Jr., 71, of Flint Ridge Road, Siler City died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Wright was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on June 27, 1945 the son of Walter Wright, Sr. and Eva (King) Wright. Walt was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Pittsboro where he served as Deacon, and Senior Sunday School Teacher. He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter, gardener and auto mechanic. Walt enjoyed grilling, playing a round of golf and will be remember for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Essie (Marsh) Wright, one daughter: Diane Horton and husband, Aaron of Mitchellville, MD; two sons: Eddie Wright and wife, Tanya of Randleman, NC, Alvin Wright and wife, Susan Hall of Trinity, NC; three sisters: Lois Williams of Asheboro, Mary Brooks both of Asheboro and Clara Baldwin of Ramseur; grandchildren, Sidney, Quentin, Taylor, Olivia, and Ashley.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. A graveside service will be held Friday at 1:30 at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Rev. Eric L. Brooks, Sr. officiating.
