Virginia Rose Peace Rives

Virginia Peace Rives, 89, of Bear Creek died Saturday, December 22, 2018.

Mrs. Rives was born in Mecklenburg County on January 21, 1929 the daughter of Clarence Lorenzo and Georgia (Hearn) Peace. She had been employed as a banking loan officer and was a member of Antioch Christian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Virgil J. Rives; her parents and a sister, Callie Hadley.

She is survived by sons: Jackie Rives and wife, Susan of Bear Creek and Larry Rives of Sanford; sister: Frankie Green and husband, Justin of Pittsboro; brothers: Thomas Peace and wife, Linda of Pittsboro and Roy Peace of Charlotte; grandsons, Preston Rives, Aaron Rives and wife, Jordan; granddaughter, Mary Maness and husband Bernie of Bear Creek; great-grandson, Nicholas Maness.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Meroney United Methodist Cemetery, 10568 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek with Rev. Val Chadwick officiating.
