Victoria Allyse Martin, age 23, of Siler City died Thursday, September 3, 2020. Ms. Martin was born September 23, 1996, and is the daughter of Darius and Robin Johnson Martin. Victoria grew up at Emmanuel Fellowship Church and was a youth leader in liturgical dance. She remained under Emmanuel’s watch-care until her transition. Victoria attended Queen’s University majoring in nursing. She always brought laughter and joy in every setting. She naturally excelled playing the center position in basketball and was a leader on her volleyball teams. She wrote poetry and was a beautiful dancer. Victoria was employed as a CNA.
She is survived by her parents, children; Layla Adams and Landon Martin of Siler City, sister; Alexis Martin of Siler City, and brother; Jeremiah Martin of Siler City; grandparents, Lennis Martin and wife Fannie of Siler City, and Robert Johnson and wife Fayeoma of Riverside, CA, aunts; Jackie Headen and husband Arnold, Stacy Ivery and husband Virgil, uncle; Scott Johnson and wife Debbie, cousins; Joel and James Johnson, Joshua, Jayson, and Jaylan Ivery, Jacqueline and Dwight Headen, godparents; Myron and Renee Miller; a special extended family of Wilson, NC and a host of family and friends.
Victoria will lie in state at Smith & Buckner funeral home Wednesday, September 9, 12:00-5:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Gee's Grove AME Zion Church.
