Vallie Smith Andrews

Vallie Smith Andrews, 88, formerly of Siler City, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Universal Health Care Of Ramseur. Mrs. Andrews was born in Randolph County on January 10, 1927 the daughter of Washington Daniel and Pearl Effie (York) Smith. Vallie was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and had been employed at Chatham Hospital in Environmental Services. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Andrews; a daughter, Peggy Sue Andrews; her parents; four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughters: Mary Mills of Jacksonville, FL, Lucy Cullingford and husband, Bob of Jacksonville, FL, Louella Ferguson and husband, Thomas of Liberty, NC, Sherry Keck Doty and husband, David of Siler City, NC, Linda Puig of Paintsville, KY; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1:00 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 7103 Sandy Creek Church Road, Staley, NC 27355 with Rev. Todd Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
