Thurman "Bo" Hart Walters, 76, of Elmer Moore Road, Siler City died Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Mr. Walters was born in Alamance County on February 9, 1942 the son of Garland Russell and Mary Kate Hart Walters. Bo was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church and had owned and operated a dairy farm before going to work with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 143 in Bonlee. Bo was an avid UNC Basketball fan, enjoyed NASCAR and enjoyed restoring old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby W. Porch and a brother, Johnny Walters.
Bo is survived by his wife: Jean (Phillips) Walters; step-daughter, Jennifer G. Perry (David) of Clemmons; step-son, Jeffrey A. Griffin (Becky) of Siler City; brother, Jackie D. Walters (Janet) of Siler City; sister, Janice W. Scott (Ronald) of Bear Creek; brother-in-law, Ronnie L. Phillips (Janice) of Bear Creek; five step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will follow Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Garner and Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
