Thomas Loumis Phillips

Thomas Loumis Phillips, 86, of Bear Creek passed away peacefully Thursday, April 16, 2015 at his home. Mr. Phillips was born December 1, 1928 and lived his entire life in Bear Cr5eek. He spent his lifetime farming and being a devoted husband, father and papa to his family. He was a good neighbor and friend to all in his community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ethel Smith Phillips; sisters, Edith Tally, Hazeline Caudle, and Laurene Tally; brothers, Clifford and Talmadge Phillips; son, Tony Phillips; daughter-in-law, Jean VonCannon Phillips; great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Phillips. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church where his funeral will be held on Saturday April 18, 2015 at 3pm with the Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the church. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Barbara McLeod Phillips; sons: Jeff Phillips and his wife, Jennie, and Joe Phillips; grandchildren, Daniel and his wife, Heather, Jennifer and Fred, Natalie, Clay and his wife, Jessica, and Abby; and great-grandchild, Cid. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
