Thomas Lee Brown, 80, of Elk Lane, Siler City died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Brown was born in Guilford County on September 22, 1935 the son of Henry S. and Haddie (Howard) Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, the Unity Sunday School Class and a member of the Baptism committee. Tom was employed by Pete Wall Plumbing for 50 years, enjoyed building and flying radio control airplanes,and dirt track racing. He was often found lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom was loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hicks Brown and his parents. He is survived by one daughter: Rhonda Osborne of the home; one son: Jerry Brown and wife, Laura of Siler City ; three stepchildren; one sister: Bonnie Lowe and husband, Buddy of Myrtle Beach, SC; two brothers: Henry Brown, Jr. and wife, Linda of Reidsville and Robert Brown. and wife, Cindy of Browns Summit; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; Special Friend, Lynda Ladd of Siler City; Special Family, Richard Golden Family; two special childhood friends, Joe Yow and Jesse Ragsdale. The family will receive friends Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. A graveside service will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro with Rev. Kenny Black officiating. Memorials may be made to Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City, NC 27344. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Gary for all his help.
