Thomas Winston Lavender, Jr.

Thomas Winston Lavender, age 82, of Siler City died Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home. Tom was born in Spindale, NC on November 8, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Winston Lavender, Sr. and Vernell Bush Lavender. He was an Army Veteran and was retired from a career in medical laboratory and x-ray technology. Tom was a Master Mason for 56 years and Past Master of Numa F. Reid Lodge # 344 AF&AM in High Point, NC. He was also a member of Oasis Shrine and the Hickory Mountain Rifle & Pistol Club. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Rives Lavender. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attention: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. A visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC.
