Terry Ellen Gomillion Brooks

Terry Ellen Gomillion Brooks, 59, of Jessie Bridges Road, Siler City died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Brooks was born in Chatham County on August 30, 1954 the daughter of Broward Gomillion and Peggy Buckner. Terry was a 1972 graduate of Jordan Matthews and had worked as a bookkeeper at Justice Motors. Terry also helped on the family farm raising chickens and enjoyed riding horses. Terry had an effervescent personality, a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband: Tim Brooks; two sons: Jon Brooks and fiancee', Brooke, Zach Brooks and wife, Lisa all of Siler City, NC; sisters, Diane B. Smith and husband, Max of Bear Creek , NC, Donna K. Carden and husband, Ervin of Henderson, NC; three brothers: Gary Lee Kirby and wife, Kathy of Chapel Hill, NC, Steven T. Kirby of Chapel Hill, NC, Allen Gomillion of Ponce De Leon, FL.; granddaughter, Aubrie Lynne Brooks; aunt, Lorane Buckner of Pueblo, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Monday, May 12, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Rocky River Baptist Cemetery, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City.
