Tammy Lois Ellington, 53, of Raleigh died Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.
Ms. Ellington was born in Chatham County on December 14, 1963 the daughter of Charlie C. and Earlene (Keck) Ellington. Tammy was a graduate of Jordan Matthews High School, attended Alamance Community College and received her Master's Degree from N. C. State University. She was an active member of Avent Ferry United Methodist Church, Raleigh where she taught Sunday School. She was currently employed as a Resource Operations Manager at N. C. State University. Tammy was creative, enjoyed cooking, crafts, especially making jewelry. She enjoyed going to ball games and times spent with family and friends.
She is survived by brother: Terry Ellington and wife, Cindy of Siler City; nephew, Isaac Ellington and fiancé, Breanna Herring of Graham; special friend, David McQueen of Raleigh. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Aunt Pat Lowe.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Folks and Rev. Donna Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
