Sula Mote Taylor, 80, of Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Pender County on July 20, 1934 the daughter of Sandlin and Effie (Blanton) Mote. She had been employed by Gold Kist Hatchery, attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses and could often be found reading her Bible. Sula enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, collecting recipes and cooking. Her greatest pleasures were times spent with good friends and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sula was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Taylor; her parents; five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters: Teresa Taylor, Alice Taylor and husband, Jeff Jackson of Siler City, NC; two sisters: Katie Cooper and husband, Gary of Taylorsville, SC, Louvania Charles of Lake Waccamaw, NC; brother: Ray Mote and wife, Helen of Siler City, NC; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor; grandchildren, Jamie and Jackie Spinks, Jeffrey Jackson, Jr. and wife, Heather; great-grandchildren, Tyrell and Jazmyn Headen, Summer Jordan, Jamari and Madison Spinks, Aubrey Jackson; and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.
