Sue Wall Humes

Sue Wall Humes, 60, of Bear Creek died Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Mrs. Humes was born in Fayetteville on February 12, 1955 the daughter of Rex Webster Wall and Margaret (Hilliard) Phillips. She attended Edward Hill Friends Meeting, was a 1973 graduate of Chatham Central High School and a 1977 graduate of UNC-CH School of Nursing. Sue made a career of helping others having worked for VA Hospital of Durham, Durham Regional Hospital, Chatham Hospital and the UNC Burn Center. She was an avid Tar Heel fan, enjoyed sports and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She is survived by her mother, Margaret (Hilliard) Phillips; one sister: Lorrie Wall of Bear Creek, NC; two brothers: Danny Wall and wife, Becky of Durham, NC, Jimmy Wall of Siler City, NC; nephews and niece, Matthew, Luke, Aaron and Maggi Brady; great- nephew and niece, James Fulford and Katy Brady; aunt, Kathleen Burke of Siler City, NC; uncle, Paul Fesmire of Siler City, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Linda Greene officiating.
