Steve H. Rollins, Sr., 75, of Staley, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024.
Steve was born in Gaston County on November 28, 1948, to the late Charles C. and Macy Tallent Rollins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Johnson Rollins and sisters, Brenda Leonard and Corliss Rollins.
Mr. Rollins attended Richland Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church, he served at both churches as a Deacon. Most recently he was attending Church Street Baptist Church in Greensboro. Steve served on the Staley Town Council. He was a truck driver for many years. Steve loved to be outside camping or fishing. His greatest love was his family.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Cindy R. Crumpler, of Boonville, NC, and Crystal R. Hoak and husband, Chris, Sr., of Staley; sons, Michael Rollins and wife, Suzanne, of Liberty, and Steve H. Rollins, Jr. and fiancée Kathy Smith, of Liberty; grandchildren, Mike Crumpler (Casey), Steven Crumpler (Verna), Casey Rollins (Paige), Bethany Rollins, Madison Hoak, and Christopher Hoak, Jr.; and great grandchildren, McKenzie Crumpler, Emma Crumpler and Piper Crumpler.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Tim Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Community Baptist Cemetery.
