Shirley Barnhouse Brooks

Shirley Ann Brooks peacefully passed away at her home on February 24, 2025.

Born September 26, 1946, in Painesville, Ohio to Lloyd and Eleanor Barnhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerry Barnhouse, and sister Sandy Brooks.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Brooks of Siler City, NC and three sons, Michael Brooks of Tampa, FL, Marc Brooks and wife Stacy of Richlands, VA, and Bryan Brooks of Siler City, NC. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. 

She was blessed with four grandchildren, Andersen Brooks and AJ Brooks of Tampa, FL, Aryan Miller and husband Andrew of Richlands, VA and Halo Brooks of Richlands, VA. She had one great-granddaughter, Navy Miller.

Shirley was a graduate of Clearwater High School in Clearwater, FL and was employed a beautician in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for several years. She found much significance in being a wife, mother and homemaker. Her greatest joys were her family and her involvement in their activities and celebrations. 

She was a sincere follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the Rives Chapel Baptist Church in Siler City, NC. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Brooks family.
