Sheila Brady Reid

Sheila Brady Reid, 75, of Bear Creek, went to be with her husband in their heavenly home on Friday, July 7, 2017.

Mrs. Reid was born in Chatham County on July 7, 1942, the daughter of Marcus and Annie Margaret Beal Brady. Sheila was a beautician, poultry farmer and was a member of Sandy Branch Baptist Church, the Sunshine Sunday School Class, and also served as Chairperson of the Decorating Committee. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, shopping, reading, and decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 52 ½ years, Larry D. Reid, brother, Wayne Brady and grand dogs, Bailey and Lucy.

She is survived by daughter; Sherry Reid Elmore and husband, Craig of Bear Creek, and son; David Reid and wife, Cindy of Belhaven, NC, sister; Newell B. Lucas and husband, Stan of Sanford, seven brothers; Harold Eugene Brady and wife, Vonnie of Asheboro, Roger Brady and wife, Rachel of Siler City, Barry Brady and wife, Brenda of Seagrove, Marcus Brady, Jr and wife, Janice of Robbins, Herbert Brady and companion, JoAnn of Robbins, Tony Brady and wife, Diane of Siler City and Gary Brady and wife, Pam of Robbins, granddaughter; Sienna Courie of Bear Creek; grand dog, Lola; and numerious nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Ave. Siler City. A celebration of her life will held on  Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sandy Branch Baptist Church, 715 Sandy Branch Church Road, Bear Creek with Rev. Marc Sanders and Rev. David King officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
