Sheila Oldham Blackmon

Sheila Oldham Blackmon, 70, of Siler City died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Siler City Center. Mrs. Blackmon was born in Chatham County on September 5, 1945 the daughter of Exon and Jean (Williams) Oldham. She was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church. Sheila enjoyed Gospel music, trips to the beach and mountains. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Chappell; grandson, Dusty Welch; her parents and brother, Anthony Oldham. She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Bobby A. Blackmon, daughters: Julia Mabe and husband, Michael of Bear Creek, NC, Robin Fulford of Siler City, NC, sons, Cary Johnson of Siler City, NC, Chuck Chappell of Ramseur, NC; step-son, Dale Blackmon of Siler City, NC; step-daughter, Eva Langley of Siler City, NC; sister: Rita Johnson of Siler City, NC; brothers: David Oldham of Waynesville, NC, Keith Oldham of Siler City, NC.; grandchildren, Michael McCaul, Amber Woodard, Brandon Welch, Courtney, Cody, Nicholas, Christopher and Charlene Chappell; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Dakota Welch, Aadyn Ramirez, Braxton Edmonds, Brailey and Madison Welch, Christopher Sanchez-Bernal. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Community Baptist Church, 2575 Hamp Stone Road, Siler City with Rev. Mark Agan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
