Ronnie Black, 70, of Sam Lowe Road, Siler City died Friday, August 21, 2015 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mr. Black was born in Chatham County on February 27, 1945, the son of Numa Floyd and Mary (Glass) Black. He was owner-operator for over 42 years of Black's Tractor & Equipment Company; and was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with his family at Badin Lake, where he was a part of the Badin Shore's Home Association. He liked going to tractor pulls, go carts, skiing and air chairing. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James Black and a sister, Hazel B. Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Gayle Teague Black; three sons: Darrell Black of Holly Springs, NC, Steven Black and wife, Amy of Siler City, NC, and Chris Black of Liberty, NC; one sister: Dr. Carolyn Black Ferree and husband, Richard C. "Sandy" Sanders of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Katie and Aaron Black.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 6:30-8:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rocky River Baptist Church, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City with Rev. Dr. Greg Burriss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
