Ronald William "Billy" McPherson

Ronald William "Billy" McPherson, 83, of Ed Clapp Road, Siler City died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Coventry House Of Siler City. Mr. McPherson was born in Guilford County on February 9, 1932 the son of J. Wade and Estie (Lowe) McPherson. Billy was an active member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. He was a dairy farmer for twenty-two years. Billy maintained a farm, a full time job at Baker Limestone and delivered morning papers. He retired from Boling Chair Company. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lucy Nance McPherson; son, Gary Wade McPherson; his parents and sister, Jean Holmes. He is survived by daughters: Gwen Johnson and husband, Ed of Siler City, NC, Cheryl Smith and husband, Edward of Siler City, NC; sons: Ronnie McPherson and wife, Pam of Snow Camp, NC, John McPherson and wife, Arlene of Siler City, NC sister: Kaye Cox of Spartanburg, SC; and brother: Kenneth McPherson and wife, Sharon of Siler City, NC; daughter-in-law, Marilyn McPherson Joyce; grandchildren, Chris McPherson and wife, Kim, Joy McPherson, Crystal Richardson and husband, Jeremiah, Jonathan Smith, Delaine Johnson, Brandon Smith, Drew and Dana McPherson and Hannah Smith; great-grandchildren, Aulden and Kailyn Richardson; step-grandchild, Kevin Johnson; several nieces and nephews and family friend, Buddy Olsen. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Folks officiating.
