Ronald Lee Moon, 77, of Holman Mill Road, Snow Camp died Friday, April 8, 2016.
Mr. Moon was born in Alamance County on February 28, 1939 the son of Homard and Pheobe (Lindley) Moon. He was a lifelong member of South Fork Friends Meeting and a retired dairy and poultry farmer. Ronnie played baseball and basketball at Sylvan High School and played church league softball and basketball for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting and outdoor sports. In later years, he enjoyed times spent watching his grandchildren play softball, baseball, basketball, football, racing and dancing. Ronnie "Pops" attended as many events as possible. He also spent time visiting with sick friends and acquaintances.
Ronnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Debralee M. Hudson; grandson, Aaron Hudson; his parents; son-in-law, Jamie Harris and a brother-in-law, William Murchison.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Hazel (Lindley) Moon, two daughters: Donna G. Moon, Gina M. Causey and husband, Gary and one son: Stephen L. Moon and wife, Kris all of Snow Camp; one sister: Nancy Murchison of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Brandon Andrew, Mikaela Hudson, Macy and Camryn Moon, Heath, Hunter, Huston and Summer Causey.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City. The funeral will be Monday, April 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM at South Fork Friends Meeting, 359 South Fork-Bethel Road, Snow Camp with Andrew Needham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
