Ronald H. Spivey

Ronald H. "Ronnie" Spivey, 64, of Charlie Fields Road, Pittsboro died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mr. Spivey was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 22, 1948 the son of Arthur S. and Dorothy (Vickers) Spivey. He had been employed with Wake Stone, a rock quarry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising chickens, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Dean Spivey. He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Hilda (Teague) Spivey, three daughters: Angie McMahon of Sanford, NC, Cheryl Spivey of Wilmington, NC, Dottie Holshauser and husband, Robie, Jr. of Pittsboro, NC; one son: Steve Spivey of Pittsboro, NC; two sisters: Mary Helen S. Burgess and husband, Charles of Pisgah Forest, NC, Lela S. Bowman and husband, Pastor, Jim of Haw River, NC; one brother: Richard Spivey of Siler City, NC; sister-in-law, Fay; grandchildren, Kevan McMahon, Joshua and Seth Holshauser. The family will receive friends Friday, April 26, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Pastor James Bowman, Pastor. Bob Boyd and Pastor Mike Cowell officiating.
