Roland Manley Perry, 91, of Siler City passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Chatham Hospital, Inc., Siler City.
Mr. Perry was born December 21, 1928, a native of Chatham County, the son of Elmer and Myrtle Lindley Perry.
Roland loved to dance and going to visit his friends, he never met a stranger. Mr. Perry was an Army veteran serving from 1954 to 1956, and farmer for many years after, including poultry, cattle and hog. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Shelby Jean Turner Perry, two sisters and 5 brothers.
He is survived by his daughters; Kay Perry of Siler City and Kelly Watson of Siler City, sons: Freddy and wife Sheryl Warren of Liberty,and Kevin Perry, grandchildren; Chris Morris and wife Allison, Justin Warren and wife Amanda, Angel Warren, and 7 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the home of his daughter Kay Perry. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City with Josh Conrad officiating. Burial will follow at the Perry Family Cemetery, 2400 Bowers Store Rd, Siler City, NC.
