Roberta Brown Teague, 89, of 1221 Silk Hope Road, Siler City died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Teague was born in Robbins on October 29, 1923 the daughter of James Madison and Blanche (Ray) Brown. She worked at Collins & Aikman for thirty-two years as a cloth inspector. Roberta was a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady L. Teague, Sr; sons, Grady Teague, Jr. and Richard Wayne Teague.
She is survived by four daughters: Nell T. Caudle and husband, Raymond of McLeansville, NC, Joyce T. Branson of Bear Creek, NC, Jewel T. Hall of Gibsonville, NC, Hilda T. Spivey and husband, Ronnie of Bynum; five sisters: Virginia McIntrye of Troy, NC, Clara Saunders of Robbins, NC, Elizabeth Poole of Sparta , Kay Elliott of Robbins, NC, Rose Cassady of Brown Summit, NC and two brothers: Winfred Brown of Robbins, NC, David Brown of Robbins, NC; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and ten step-Great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 7, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and other times at the family home. The funeral will be Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Loves Creek Baptist Church, 1745 East 11th Street, Siler City with Rev. Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
