Robert Lee Alston

Robert Lee Alston, 70, of Siler City died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Mr. Alston was born in Chatham County on January 15, 1945 the son of Turner and Virginia (Thompson) Alston. He was retired from Thorpe and Associates. He was a Christian by faith, enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing corn-in-the-hole. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Hattie (Rogers) Alston, two daughters: Penelope Alston, Amanda Farrar and one son: Jeremy Alston all of Siler City, NC.; three sisters: Jean A. Headen of Siler City, NC, Ada Alston of Pittsboro, NC, Diena A. Burton of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two brothers: Albert Alston of Siler City, NC, Steve Alston of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Amari Alston, Lindley Farrar, Hayden Alston and twins Kandyn and Kamryn Alston. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A Memorial service will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First Missionary Baptist Church, 914 Martin Luther King Blvd, Siler City with Pastor Oscar Rush officiating.
