Robert Earl Jordan

Robert Earl Jordan, 80, of 103 Joe Brown Road, Bear Creek died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Mr. Jordan was born in Chatham County on October 24, 1931 the son of George and Beatrice Jordan. He was a member of Oakley Baptist Church and a former member of Community Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. Robert had been employed by Boling Chair Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and "tinkering" with his old truck. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Lee Jordan; a daughter, Robyn Gail Jordan; step-children, Jimmy Johnson and Sue Ellen Vanderford. He is survived by his wife of ten years: Mary Belle Myers Jordan; one daughter: Vickie J. Barth of Siler City, NC; one sister: Peggy Minton of Bennett, NC; eight grandchildren; step-children, Cary Lee Johnson, Mike Burke, Debra Vandervort, Roger Causey, Gloria Clare, Tony Causey and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Oakley Baptist Church. Smith & Buckner Funeral Home is assisting the family.
