Rebecca Shoffner McDaniel

Rebecca Shoffner McDaniel, 91, of Siler City died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Siler City Center. Mrs. McDaniel was born in Randolph County on October 7, 1921 the daughter of Sidney and Betty S. Shoffner. Becky was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was very creative with a lot of artistic talent. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting. She is survived by one daughter: Pam Myrick of Haw River, NC and two sons: Robert L. "Butch" McDaniel of Siler City, NC, James Bruce McDaniel and wife, Becky of Siler City, NC; half sister, Sarah Ellis of Mt Holly, NC; grandchildren, Jeffrey McDaniel of Clemmons, NC, Nolan Myrick and wife, Tammy of Graham, Jaymie Steele and husband, Chris of Burlington, NC; great-grandchildren, Abby, Mason and Tate; step-grandchildren, Jay Fields, Rodney Fields and wife, and Aimee , Wendy Albright and husband, Richard, and Alexis; special great-granddaughter, Lexi Jo Albright and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Homer McDaniel; brothers, Joe Shoffner and Sidney G. Shoffner. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
