Rachel Rash McNair

Rachel Rash McNair, 81, of Siler City died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Laurels Of Chatham, Pittsboro. Mrs. McNair was born in Forsyth County on July 20, 1932 the daughter of Lee McKinley and Leona (Rupard) Rash. She was a retired bookkeeper for S H Basnight & Sons Hardware. Rachel enjoyed quilting, baking sourdough bread, caring for her cats and taking long walks with her friend, Edith Lindley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. McNair; her parents; brothers, James H. Rash, Ralph W. Rash, Harold G. Rash; sisters, Alma M. Rash and Flora D. Hemric. She is survived by one daughter: Kimberly Webster and husband, Stephen T. Webster of Siler City, NC; sister: Ruth R. Lindsay of Hickory, NC and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 Hwy 64 West, Siler City with Daniel Farris officiating.
