R. Rawdon Vann

R. Rawdon Vann, 89, of Hampstead died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter, Wilmington. Mr. Vann was born in Chatham County on October 1, 1926 the son of Robert White and Virgie Raye (Dowdy) Vann. Rawdon was a Navy Veteran and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Siler City. He retired from First Union National Bank, Siler City Branch as Vice-President. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Trogdon Vann; his parents; brother, Barcley Vann; sisters, Peggy V. Reid and Dorothy V. Collins He is survived by one daughter: Traci Vann Johnson and husband, Jerry Wayne Johnson of Hampstead, NC; one son: Gregory A. Vann of Newnan, GA; two brothers, James "Jimmy" S. Vann of Siler City, NC, Dennis R. Vann and wife, Linda C. Vann of Valrico, FL; grandsons, Maxwell Scott and Samuel Wayne Johnson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 10:00-11:00AM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 120 Fellowship Church Road, Siler City. A graveside service will follow Wednesday, March 30 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jason Golden officiating and military rites by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
