Peggy Fields Phillips, 90, of Green Hill Drive, Siler City, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Chatham Hospital.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Chatham County on October 31, 1924 the daughter of Norton Perry and Leona (Pickett) Fields. She was a cafeteria worker with the Chatham County Schools and had also worked at The Friendly Florist. Peggy was a member of The First Baptist Church of Siler City. She enjoyed sports and cooking but her family was always her primary focus.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Phillips; son, John Daniel Phillips, Jr; her parents; sisters and brother, Lucille Overman, Jerry Fields and Bobbie Fields Ward.
She is survived by two sons: Ted S. Phillips of Siler City, NC, Kim Fields Phillips and wife, LeAnn of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Charlotte Kerr, Logan Phillips, Hannah Kerr Ellis, Callie Phillips, Shane Phillips, Travis Phillips and Meghan Phillips; great-grandchildren, Carter, Westin and Marley Phillips.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 314 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, NC. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Kidd officiating.
