Pearl Dell Fitts, 87, of Siler City died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Siler City Center.
Mr. Fitts was born in Chatham County on October 29, 1928 the son of William Robert Fitts, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Marley) Fitts. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was employed by Bill & Bill Gulf Station as a station attendant. Pearl expressed his musical talent playing the harmonica, his gift for gab in spinning a tale and in political discussions and his love of all God's creatures through his animals.
Pearl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl Fitts, W. R. "Billy" Fitts,Jr., Rev. Russell Fitts; sister-in-law, Mary Camp Fitts.
He is survived by one sister: Frances Rhodes and husband, Larry of Gastonia; sisters-in-law, Virginia Fitts, Faye Fitts both of Siler City, NC; five nieces and four nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 1:00-2:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. A graveside service will be Sunday at 3:00 PM at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church, 175 Moon's Chapel Road, Siler City with Rev. Jim Wall and Tommy Emerson officiating.
