Pauline Poe Dowd Duncan

Pauline Poe Dowd Duncan, 88, of Siler City died Monday, August 31, 2015 at Siler City Center. Mrs. Duncan was born in Chatham County on November 9, 1926 the daughter of Coen and Florence (Edwards) Poe. She was a member of Rives Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Glendale Hosiery. Pauline was preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Dowd, Joe Boggs and Elmer Duncan; son, David Vernon Dowd parents; brothers, Glenn, Billy, Allen and Jack Poe; sisters, Mary Allen and Dorothy Hayes. She is survived by one daughter: Virginia Whitaker; sons: C.B. Dowd and wife, Sharon, Donnie Dowd and wife, Angie all of Siler City, NC; ten grandchildren, Carla Ferguson, Travis Dowd, Jacob Dowd, Brandy Everwine, Sunshine Dowd, Mike Dowd, Donna Maness, Diane Burns, Keith Jeffcoat, David Jeffcoat ; twenty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, 4338 Rives Chapel Church Road, Siler City with Rev. Tripp Foltz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
