Pauline Marie Blalock, 74, was born on November 23, 1946 in Chatham County, NC. After a long battle with dementia, she passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2021, surrounded by her family at Westfield Rehabilitation and Health Center in Sanford.
She was a longtime faithful member of Rock Hill Friends Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, Bible school and youth group. In her later years, she attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Sanford, NC.
Pauline worked with her late husband Manley Hugh Boone on their family poultry farm for many years. She could often be found in the kitchen, making her famous homemade biscuits and macaroni and cheese. In addition, she was a Certified Nursing Assistant who used her empathetic and sweet spirit to care for the needs of many others. Though she was a private person, Pauline was deeply connected to people who had been fortunate enough to share in some part of her life; staying connected and remembering major life events through letters, cards and phone calls.
Pauline was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Blalock Oldham. She is survived by her children, David Boone (wife Diane) of Randleman and Tammy Cockman (husband Don) of Camden, SC; grandchildren Jonathan Cockman (fiancé Price) of Columbia, SC and Lindsay Perry (husband John) of Wheat Ridge, CO.; six siblings, Larry Blalock of Biscoe, Marie Vasgar (Art) of Troy, Janice Cox (Ronnie) of Bear Creek, Donna Caviness (Paul) of Robbins, Donald Oldham (Sandy) of Robbins, and Martha Kidd (Eddie) of Bennett.
There will be a private memorial service held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Smith-Buckner funeral home in Siler City, NC with Rev. David Hicks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Rock Hill Friends Church at 148 Rock Hill Church Road, Eagle Springs, NC 27242.
