Nannie Mae Keller Hinshaw, 92, of Siler City died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Chatham County on July 6, 1923 the daughter of Murphy and Susie (Cooper) Keller. She was retired from Kellwood as an inspector. Nannie Mae was a member of Rocky River Friends Meeting where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, had served as Sunday School Secretary and Church treasurer, and she and her husband had served as Youth Directors. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, crocheting, sewing, reading and working in her flower beds and taking long walks.
Nannie Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George C. Hinshaw; her parents; brothers, Carlos and Garland Keller; sisters, Gertrude Wicker, Inez Moon, Janiece Lowe.
She is survived by one son: Clifford Hinshaw and wife, Frances of Siler City; one daughter: Helen Hinshaw Pike of Staley; one sister: Lottie K. Carter of Liberty; grandchildren, Brian Hinshaw and wife, Patty; Ann Nixon and husband, Doug; Brad Pike and wife, Sarah; great grandchildren, Madison and Nathan Hinshaw, Levi Nixon, Addison Pike and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley-Snow Camp Rd., Siler City with David Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Clifford Hinshaw, 6693 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Siler City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
