Michael “Spud” Wilson, 70, of Bear Creek, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
Spud was born in Chatham County on July 11, 1952, to Fred Archie and Pauline Phillips Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie Charles and Gene Archie Wilson.
Mr. Wilson attended both Goldston Baptist Church and the Cowboy Church. He worked for many years as a maintenance technician for the Chatham County School System. He enjoyed going to car shows and dancing. Spud enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. You could always find him at a baseball or softball field, watching his grandkids play.
Spud is survived by his daughter, Courtney Nicole Wilson, of Bear Creek; granddaughter, Paisley Bridges; grandson, Jackson Scott; and brother, Gale Wilson and wife, Juanita of Siler City.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Goldston Baptist Church, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Bruce MacInnes and Willie Pickard officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery.
