Merlin George Teeling

Merlin George Teeling, 71, of Siler City passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Chatham Hospital, Siler City. Mr. Teeling was born in Schenectady, NY on December 25, 1949 the son of George Redmond and Irene Chase. Merlin attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He loved watching television, especially the Andy Griffin Show. He would pass the time with word search puzzles and enjoyed going fishing. He was a farmer of many things including horses, pigs and chickens. Merlin loved being with his grandchildren and getting to spend time with the family especially on holidays and Christmas. In addition to his parents, Merlin is preceded in death by his sons, James and Cody Teeling, and brother, Gary Teeling. He is survived by his son; Lucas Teeling and wife Paulina of Siler City, brother; Alfred Teeling of Tampa, FL, grandchildren; Liam and Lillian Teeling, Michael Lehman and Austin Harper, and great grandchildren; Aidan and Brooke Lehman. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17721 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek with Rev. Darrell Garner officiating.
