Mary Kinney Stout, 97, of Siler City passed away Friday, August 9th, 2024, at her home.

She was born September 19th, 1926, in Franklinville, NC to the late William Lacy Kinney and Maude Allred Kinney. Mary was the middle child in a large family, and she had seven brothers and seven sisters. After graduating from high school, she worked at A.J. Schneierson’s for many years before becoming a full-time homemaker. Mary Kinney married Wade Stout, Jr. on July 1st, 1950, and together they lovingly raised a wonderful family with two sons, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. As a lifelong church member, she was active in various roles and support programs prior to her declining health.

Mary was an exceptional cook, enjoyed canning vegetables from their large garden, and was also an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed daily crossword puzzles and preparing large meals on Sundays, family birthdays, and holidays. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Irene Saunders, Fleta Wright, Louise Kinney, Betsy Johnson, Clara Bell, and Martha Harvell; brothers, Norman, Odell, Charles, Herbert, Fred, Harvey, and Joe Kinney.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Wade Stout, Jr.; her children, Phil Stout (June) of Pittsboro, and Doug Stout of Siler City; her sister, Donna Jenkins of Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren, Chris Stout, Nichole (Jake) Barlow, Patrick (Leah Catherine) Stout, Andrew Stout; great grandchildren, Renay, Jason, Isaac, William, Virginia, and Catherine; and great, great grandchild, Matthew.

Funeral will be held Thursday, August 15th, 2024, at 2 pm, at Siler City "The Journey" Pentecostal Holiness Church. Internment will be at Oakwood Cemetery following the service. Services will be officiated by Pastor Rick Haug. The family will receive friends after the services at the church.
