Mary Louise York Vestal

Mary Louise York Vestal, 87 , of Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center, Burlington. Mrs. Vestal was born in Chatham County the daughter of Sam and Iva (Smith) York. She was a member of Rocky River Friends Meeting where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She loved working in the greenhouse with flowers and grew many poinsettias that adorned the choir loft at Rocky River, numerous homes and other churches for several Christmas seasons. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel Ross Vestal. She is survived by two sons: Wesley Vestal and wife, Sara, Sammy Vestal both of Siler City, NC; grandchildren, Conway, Dallas, Katie, Samantha and Lee Vestal; great-granddaughter, Ariana Grace Scott and her faithful canine companion, Tippy. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley-Snow Camp Rd., Siler City with Pastor David Hobson officiating.
