Mary Lois Woody Phillips

Mary Lois Woody Phillips, 86, of Sanford died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at UNC Hospitals. Mrs. Phillips was born in Chatham County on September 26, 1929 the daughter of George and Mary (Dixon) Woody. Mary was a member of Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church and retired from Chatham Mills where she had worked as a quiller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Phillips; a son, Mike Phillips and her parents. She is survived by one daughter: Pam P. Hendricks of Cameron, NC and two sons: Steven D. Phillips of Sanford, NC, Roger A. Phillips and wife, Tammy of Bear Creek, NC; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Hickory Mountain United Methodist Church, 201 Hadley Mill Road, Pittsboro with Rev. Bill Hart officiating.
