Mary Lois Branson Scott

Mary Lois Branson Scott, 81, of Siler City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, at home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Mary was born on September 23rd, 1943, in Chatham County, to the late Bill and Myrtie Elkins Branson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack T. Scott; her parents, her brother, John Lee Branson; and her sisters, Martha Cook, and Barbara Jean Branson.

Mary was a member of Bonlee Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, she was on the flower committee, and the blanket and card committee. She retired from Moore’s Machine Company in 2004 and then she devoted her life to volunteering in the community. She did volunteer work at Chatham Hospital, and she did the sing along and devotion at Village Lake Inn. She enjoyed reading and sending cards.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her sisters, Helen Langley, Betty Phillips, and Shirley Sanders and her husband, Gilbert; and lots of special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Bonlee Baptist Church - Hope Cemetery in Bonlee on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, at 11 am. Services will be officiated by Pastor Bob Lovett and Pastor Chad Austin. Visitation will be after the service in the church fellowship hall.
