Mary Frances Crabtree Lewis, 80, formerly of Oak Island, passed away on October 21, 2021, at Siler City Center.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Guilford County on August 29, 1941, the daughter of Otho and Pearl Crabtree Welborn.
Mary was of the Baptist faith. Before taking the time to stay home and care for her family, she spent her working years at Bob Dunn Ford as well as Servomation Vending Company, both in Greensboro. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, loved her cats, and made sure to attend all her grandchildren's ballgames. Mary loved listening to Elvis and Vince Gill sing and watching the television. She was a fantastic cook and was always making something delicious in the kitchen. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John Roger Lewis; daughter, Cheryl Hayes; and half-brother, Charles Welborn.
She is survived by her sons, Darrell Lewis of Oak Island, and Jeff Lewis of Burlington and wife Deborah of Siler City; 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Smith & Buckner Chapel, 230 N. Second Ave., Siler City,NC 27344 with Rev. Bob Wachs officiating.
