Mary Gray Maness, 79, of Randleman died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Maness was born in Chatham County on September 24, 1935 the daughter of George Martin and Lena (Edwards) Gray. She was a retired seamstress in hosiery manufacturing and enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Maness, Sr. and son, Donald Wayne Maness. She is survived by three sons: Allen Maness, Jr. of Randleman, NC, Terry Ray Maness of Liberty, NC, George Franklin Maness of Randleman, NC; granddaughter, Jordan Maness of Sophia, NC; sister: Nellie Overman of Bear Creek, NC; brother: Tom Gray of Ramseur, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Bob Wachs officiating. Burial will be in Staley Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.pughfuneralhome.com.
